We all make mistakes. It’s a part of being human. But what sets us apart is how we choose to handle those mistakes. Do we beat ourselves up, dwell on our bad choices and let them define us? Or do we choose to forgive our ignorance, LEARN from our mistakes, and move forward with RENEWED purpose and determination? In this video, I encourage you to take on the latter mindset. View mistakes as opportunities for growth and build confidence to make better choices when faced with future decisions.
Scriptures mentioned in this video are:
Psalms 103:12 “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us.”
and...
I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
The reason I’m defining a “mistake” synonymous with “sin” is in context to my own personal situation I shared with you a couple posts back, regarding the relationship I ended.
The “sin” or “mistake” was the fact that I got caught up in the words of MAN and didn’t get caught up with the words of YAH. I allowed things to be said to me that hadn’t been earned. My first response was excitement and off to the races I went, which led me to not see many of the signs and gut feelings that said, “This isn’t the ONE.” I thought we would have ended in a cordial, mutual understanding of friendship, but the more that was revealed, I realized this situation was going in a toxic direction and not good for my mental health.
Yes, I learned many positive lessons from this situation (which I’ll be happy to share another time) but I still found myself “dwelling” on not taking the proper time to shut out the world, family and friends to seek The Most High with all my heart, soul and mind through fasting. I felt as if I failed Yah by not choosing His voice over others.
The Father gently reminded me of those scriptures above. He also told me not to be so HARD on myself and that this was a learning experience that will better prepare me for the next opportunity. After sitting with Yah for a while through a private worship session - the guilt, sorrow and remorse lifted. I began to note the things I did do right; one being pushing PAUSE at the right time (before we met in person).
Yah is so compassionate that He sent various people (some of you 💝) with words of encouragement. This level of genuine support reminded me that though we all make mistakes and fall short - it’s what we LEARN from those mistakes that count. Sure, I wish I would have, should have, could have but guess what? Eventually, I did and that’s what matters most. So, let go of self-blame, repent, forgive yourself and move forward.
As I bare my soul through personal reflection and transparency, I truly hope these messages inspire you and give you wisdom on your own faith journey! 🙏
Yah’s Shalom, Blessings and FAVOR!
